If your Instagram account is set to share your activity status, anyone who messages you will see a green dot that indicates when you were last active on the app. Those who would prefer not to have their online status shared can turn it off by visiting the settings menu.
Activity Status
Instagram has recently introduced a feature that allows users to know when their friends are online. This is useful when you need to chat in real time. The feature is optional and can be turned on or off. The feature is called Activity Status, and it will display the last time you were active on Instagram next to your name. This is visible to other users, but only to those you have a direct message conversation with.
You can find this option in your settings and privacy menu. Once you have enabled it, people can see your last active date in your DM inbox and on the person’s profile page. It’s also available in the list of your friends on Instagram. The feature is similar to Facebook Messenger’s last active date, but it shows your last time you used the app instead of the day you started a conversation with someone.
The feature is a great way to connect with other users, but some people would rather keep it disabled to preserve their privacy. Instagram has made this easy by providing a few ways to disable the feature. You can access the settings by tapping the profile icon and then selecting the three lines in the top right corner of the screen. Once you’ve accessed the settings, click on “Messages and story replies” and then tap the toggle next to Activity Status.
It is important to note that the Instagram Activity Status feature only applies to people you follow and that follow you back. It does not affect those you follow but do not interact with, and it cannot tell if you are using the Instagram app or just checking your account. The feature is designed to be as accurate as possible, but there are many factors that can influence the accuracy of this tool. For example, if a friend’s DMs are marked as read on their device but they do not respond to you, it may be because they have been in the process of deleting their messages.
The Activity Status feature is a good way to connect with your followers and can make your conversations feel more alive. However, it can be frustrating for some people to be tracked down by their followers. This is especially true if they don’t want to be found and would prefer to remain private. This is why it is important to consider the pros and cons of this feature before choosing whether or not to use it.
Direct Messages
Instagram is a social media platform where more than two billion users upload and share content. It’s also where connections and collaboration opportunities occur – with most of the interaction happening in direct messages, or DMs. Instagram’s direct messaging features are a vital connection point for brands, whether it’s answering a customer query or reaching out to potential collaborators. However, many businesses struggle with how to best utilize the platform’s DM capabilities. This is where Instagram DM templates come in, which are pre-designed message structures that streamline the process of communicating with your audience.
Instagram’s direct message feature supports individual conversations between two individuals, but it’s also possible to create group chats for up to 32 people. This way, all participants can see each other’s replies to the same message and easily keep up with each other’s conversation. This can help foster an intimate and interactive experience for your followers, which will build trust and loyalty. It’s important to remember, though, that while these group conversations can be useful for customer support and brand engagement, they should not be used for mass messaging campaigns. Doing so can violate Instagram’s community guidelines and can cause unwanted spamming and annoyance to your followers.
To start a new private conversation on Instagram, tap the Messenger icon (or the paper airplane if you’re using an older version of the app). You can search for someone, or tap a suggested friend. Then, type a message and add emojis if you like. When you’re ready to send, tap Send.
If you receive any abusive photos or videos, or if you think that you’ve been blocked from receiving a message, you can report it to Instagram. You can also block accounts that you don’t want to hear from by selecting them in the list of your followers and tapping Block.
While there are third-party apps that can automate your Instagram DM process, it’s crucial to stay within the platform’s community guidelines and avoid spamming and annoying your followers. Instead, try leveraging a reliable Instagram DM template solution such as DMPro to save time and ensure that your message is delivered in the most effective way.
Notes
Instagram has recently introduced Notes, which are basically post-it notes that you can leave for friends. They can be used to share mood updates, questions and anything else that’s on your mind. Notes can be up to 60 characters long, and you can choose to share them with all of your followers or only those who follow you back. If you share a Note with your Close Friends, they can reply directly to you via direct message.
Notes are positioned prominently in your inbox, above all of the messages, so they’re hard to miss. This makes them a great way to share important information with your followers, like new product launches or sales. It’s also a great way to get feedback from your followers, as you can ask them questions in a note and then follow up with the results.
To create a Note, go to the top of your inbox and click on the note icon. Then, type your message and tap “Share.” You’ll have the option to add emojis, and you can select who you want to share your note with. You can also delete your note at any time.
If you’re not seeing Instagram Notes on your account, there may be a few reasons why. First, make sure that you’re running the latest version of the app. You can update the app by going to the App Store on your phone, searching for Instagram, and tapping “Update.” If you still don’t see Notes, try logging out and re-logging in.
Instagram is currently testing a feature that lets users share notes with their closest friends. The feature, which looks a lot like old-school chat rooms, is designed to help you express yourself in a more personal way. Notes will be visible to your friends and followers for 24 hours, and they’ll be able to respond to you with a direct message. If you’re not comfortable sharing your notes with everyone, you can restrict who can see them by selecting a privacy setting in the menu. You can also choose to disable the feature completely.
Deleted Posts
If you delete a post or video on Instagram, it immediately disappears from your profile and moves to the Recently Deleted section. Deleted posts and videos are kept in the Recently Deleted section for 30 days, and they will be permanently deleted after that. The Instagram app also offers an Archive feature that lets you save photos and videos from your feed to view them later. You can also archive Stories and IGTV videos that you’ve posted to your profile. You can use this feature to keep important content from being erased by accident or because of a privacy issue.
There’s no way to see someone else’s deleted Instagram posts, but there are ways to find out if they were. If you have access to their phone, you can find out what was removed by looking at the device’s memory or Google Photos or iCloud backups. Alternatively, you can use apps designed specifically for this purpose, such as Eyezy.
Instagram is rolling out a useful new feature today that allows users to recover posts they’ve accidentally deleted. The company is positioning it as a tool that can help prevent hacks by allowing users to restore deleted photos, videos, reels, and Instagram stories. It’s similar to how Apple’s iOS and macOS apps work with the Recently Deleted folder. To restore content, users will need to confirm their identity by text or email.
If you’ve accidentally deleted a post or video, you can recover it by visiting your Instagram profile and tapping the Archive icon. This will open a list of all your archived content. You can then select the post or video you want to recover and tap Restore to bring it back to your profile. This will also restore your likes, comments, and views for the content.
You can also unarchive posts by visiting your Instagram profile and tapping the three-dots icon in the top right corner. From here, you can select Show on Profile to display your archived posts and videos again. Then, when you’re ready to delete them again, you can simply tap Delete to remove them from your profile.
